03/11/2009 Jewel and Esk Lead the Way
Inisoft is delighted to announce the decision by one of Scotland’s leading colleges to implement Inisoft’s Captavia Application Management System (CAMS) to streamline the course and funding application process for its students, prospective students and staff.
Jewel and Esk’s Edinburgh and Midlothian Campuses cater for the needs around 8,000 students and 400 staff each year. These brand new campuses are at the cutting edge of educational design and provide staff and students with outstanding facilities. The college has put ambitious plans into action, using innovative ways of preparing learners to enter and succeed in their chosen career.
With education programmes covering subjects from automotive engineering, carpentry & joinery, business management and music through to social sciences, care, community work and hospitality, it’s an exciting time to join Jewel & Esk College. Jewel & Esk is distinctive in its total commitment from the entire college community - learners, partners, and staff - to those things they value most: teamwork, integrity, customer-focus, confidence and success.
As part of this commitment, the college constantly seeks ways of improving the services it delivers to all its customers. As a key element of improving the application process for course and bursary applications, Jewel & Esk has engaged Inisoft Ltd to deploy its recently launched CAMS solution.
Alan Williamson, Director of Finance at Jewel & Esk College stated,
......“Over the past three years Jewel & Esk College has simplified its processing capability through seamless integration of its various systems offering real benefits to staff and students. Our College’s investment in CAMS provides further improvement within its operation using current technology to offer on-line bursary, childcare and discretionary fund application forms”
CAMS was created to provide a rapidly configurable, workflow backed solution to the delivery of online application forms for courses and student funding to meet the needs of Further Education Colleges. As Chris Oggelsby, Business development Manager at Inisoft comments,
......“Traditional paper based application forms for bursary and general funding can be complex, which often means that potential students submit incomplete forms and incorrectly answered questions. These problems delay application processing and often lead to forms being returned to the applicant for amendment. CAMS funding forms are constructed to guide the applicant through the process in a logical manner, grouping questions of a similar nature together and prompting the applicant when additional information is required. The answers to each section are validated before the application is submitted, thereby reducing errors.”
