16/02/2010 Dundee College Discovers CAMS

Inisoft is delighted to announce that Dundee College have ordered Inisoft’s Captavia Application Management System (CAMS) to streamline the course and funding application process for its students, prospective students and staff.

Dundee College is one of Scotland’s largest colleges. The number of student enrolments now exceeds 23,000 supported by over 700 staff. In this tough economic period Dundee College is proud of it’s financially stability with the annual turnover standing at £30m.

Dundee College enjoys its position as the single College in Scotland’s 4th largest City and has a reputation for providing education, training, and services of the highest quality. The activities of the College are spread across five main campus buildings and serve the needs of a range of communities throughout Dundee, and the surrounding areas of Tayside and North Fife.

Ray Mudie the Associate Principal at Dundee College stated \"With over 9000 course and 2000 funding applications made to the college in 2009/10 we are looking forward to significantly reducing the administration workload through the implementation of the CAMS on-line application system. We believe that this online facility will streamline the application process in Dundee and enhance the student’s application experience while maximising the college resources.\"

A CAM was created to provide a rapidly configurable, workflow backed solution to the delivery of online application forms for courses and student funding to meet the needs of Further Education Colleges. As Chris Oggelsby, Business development Manager at Inisoft comments,

......“Traditional paper based application forms for bursary and general funding can be complex, which often means that potential students submit incomplete forms and incorrectly answered questions. These problems delay application processing and often lead to forms being returned to the applicant for amendment. CAMS funding forms are constructed to guide the applicant through the process in a logical manner, grouping questions of a similar nature together and prompting the applicant when additional information is required. The answers to each section are validated before the application is submitted, thereby reducing errors.”
